The Saint Lucia National Cricket Association (SLNCA) is delighted to announce the return of the SLNCA Women's T20 Tournament, which bowls off on Saturday, June 20, 2026, and continues through to August 1, 2026.
The highly anticipated competition returns after a hiatus of nearly five years and marks a significant milestone in the continued growth and development of women's cricket in Saint Lucia.
The tournament will feature six teams representing communities and organizations across the island:
- Gros Islet
- South Castries
- Choiseul
- Laborie
- Police
- SLNCA Development Team
Matches will be played at four venues across Saint Lucia:
- La Fargue Playing Field, Choiseul
- Wenn Playing Field, Mon Repos
- Balata Playing Field, Castries

Defending champions Gros-Islet will be aiming to retain their title, but they are expected to face strong competition from a talented field of teams featuring some of the island's most accomplished female cricketers.
Among the standout players expected to participate are Nerissa Crafton, the Windward Islands and West Indies left hand middle-order batter, who will captain the South Castries Lionesses.
Gros Islet will once again rely on the experience and skills of Selena Ross, while Saint Lucia's current vice-captain, Namiah Marcellin will lead the SLNCA Development Team.
Choiseul will be strengthened by the presence of former Saint Lucia and Windward Islands batter Roylin Cooper, while the Police team will feature former national players Teaddie Crawford and Swayline Williams.
Laborie will also benefit former National Player Leona Emmanuel and the athletic prowess of national track star Jady Emmanuel.
SLNCA Third Vice President, and Cricket Hall of Famer, Eugena Gregg, who has spearheaded efforts to revive the competition, expressed her excitement ahead of the opening weekend.
"The return of the Women's T20 Tournament is a proud moment for women's cricket in Saint Lucia. We have worked diligently over the past several months to bring this competition back, and I am extremely excited to see our female cricketers, once again, taking the field in a structured island-wide tournament. This competition will provide an excellent platform for player development, talent identification, and increased participation in the sport. I would like to thank all the Players, Team Management Units, Officials, Volunteers, and members of the Women’s Cricket Development Committee, who have helped make this tournament a reality."
The SLNCA views the tournament as a critical component of its broader strategy to strengthen the women's game and create pathways for players to advance to national, regional, and international levels.
A short opening ceremony will be held at the La Fargue playing field on Saturday, June 20, 2026, followed by the opening match between Choiseul and Laborie from 2:00pm.
Parents and their daughters, cricket enthusiast are encouraged to attend matches throughout the tournament and support the continued growth of women's cricket in Saint Lucia.
