National Workers Union industrial relations update

Industrial negotiations between the Management of the Dennery Community Co-Operative Credit Society Ltd. and the Leadership of the National Workers Union (NWU) have begun.

The parties discussed a Memorandum of Proposals which deals with a new wage structure, fringe benefits and overall improvement in working conditions.

Both sides have agreed to execute the proceedings with minimum delay so that workers can benefit from the new arrangements that would be agreed upon.

Meanwhile the National Workers Union has written to Labour Commissioner, Joseph Joseph requesting official Trade Union Recognition on behalf of workers employed with Sagicor Life.



It is expected that the appropriate procedures would be put into effect urgently so that a speeding determination of the request can be realized.
