SLASPA’s digital immigration kiosks enhancing traveller experiences

The installation of digital immigration kiosks by the St. Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority is apparently paying dividends for travelers.

SLASPA recently began the test phase of digital immigration kiosks and a few days later hundreds of arriving travelers from the US, the UK, Canada, and CARICOM had safely and securely skipped the immigration line, increasing operational efficiency at both Saint Lucian airports.

The testing phase is not over yet, but the tedious lines for immigration checks are already getting shorter and moving faster.

In an interview conducted on Thursday 25th August, the supervisor for Vieux fort and Soufriere ports Sargeant Ken Charlery confirmed that, even with the limitations of the test phase, the technology is already working for more than 300 travelers in the first two days.

Marius Rzucidlo, Project Manager, Canadian Bank Note reports that airport managers and the implementation team observed that travelers using the digital kiosks took between 30 seconds and two minutes to be processed, depending on how au courant they were with this kind of self-service.

Hewanorra’ s Airport Manager, Hasani Neptune has been monitoring the test phase closely noting the improved traveller experience.
