Saint Lucia marks Global Recycling Day in Anse La Raye

The Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority (SLSWMA), in partnership with Greening the Caribbean Inc. (GtC was expected to host a Community E-Waste and Aluminium Cans Drop-Off Event on Saturday, March 14th, 2026.


The event coincided with Global Recycling Day, a worldwide observance that highlights the critical role recycling plays in preserving natural resources and protecting our environment.


This is the second community dropoff event coordinated by GtC under the Integrated E-Waste Management (IEWM) Project, which is supported by IDB Lab and implemented in partnership with the SLSWMA. 

Global Recycling Day under the theme “Don’t think waste, think opportunity” is a reminder that every community has a role to play in building a cleaner, more sustainable world. This event brings that responsibility home to Anse La Raye.


Residents were invited to bring their used electrical and electronic items for responsible disposal.


Accepted items include phones, laptops, tablets, computers, printers, microwaves, irons, fans, blenders, air fryers, speakers, cameras, cables, batteries, keyboards, and other portable appliances.


Aluminium cans were also be collected.
