The St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture will host the Comptroller of Customs & Excise Department, Mr. Sherman Emmanuel, at its Executive Luncheon scheduled for June 11th, 2026, at The Harbor Club.

There the business community will receive an update on the progress of customs reform and system improvements previously outlined by the Customs and Excise Department.

Comptroller of Customs Sherman Emmanue The luncheon comes at a critical time for the private sector, as importers continue to face significant delays, inefficiencies and operational challenges associated with cargo clearance and port processes.

Over the past year, the Chamber has engaged constructively and patiently with both the Customs and Excise Department, and the St. Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA).

The Customs and Excise Department made commitments regarding modernization, improved processing efficiency, digitalization and a stronger trade facilitation approach. The business community now expects measurable progress and tangible outcomes.
