Panel to discuss ‘From Brain Drain to Brain Gain” September 18th

As part of the 40th anniversary celebrations of Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC), the VALIRI and SALCC will host a public panel discussion bringing together voices from research, policy, civil society, and the Saint Lucian diaspora on the topic - From Brain Drain to Brain Gain: Reimagining Research for Saint Lucia.

It will be held Friday September 18th at the NTN Studio.

The panel comprises:

• Dr. Kedma Dorh (Civil Society Leader)
• Dr. Alisha Eugene-Ford (Policymaker)
• Dr. Winston Phulgence (Researcher & Academic Leader)
• Dr. Aviane Auguste (Diaspora Researcher, McGill University)

Ms. Chelsea Branford (Diaspora PhD student, McGill University)

The moderator is H.E. Julian DuBois (Ministry of External Affairs). The discussion will explore how research can become a shared national asset for social progress and innovation and the ways policymakers, educators, civil society organizations, and businesses can better access and use data and evidence.
