More reliable statistics for evidence-based development

Saint Lucia is taking steps to strengthen the production, management, and use of official statistics as the country prepares to revise its Medium Term Development Strategy and develop a National Development Plan.

The Government of Saint Lucia is advancing efforts to strengthen evidence-based decision-making through a National Statistical System (NSS) Symposium hosted by the Central Statistical Office (CSO).

The three-day event brought together representatives from government ministries, departments, agencies, and other key stakeholders to enhance collaboration in the collection, management, and use of official statistics.

Sean Mathurin - Director of the Central Statistical Office The symposium forms a key component of the implementation of Saint Lucia’s first National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS), which aims to improve the quality, accessibility, and coordination of data across the public sector.
