Meetings in Gros Islet, Babonneau and Castries on affordable green housing

Published on April 20, 2026

The Saint Lucia Resilient Green Affordable Housing Project, led by the Government of Saint Lucia in collaboration with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), aims to address the country’s housing deficit through the development of affordable, climate resilient homes.

These homes will incorporate green and resilient features such as rainwater harvesting, solar energy, energy-efficient lighting, and hurricane-resistant construction to better withstand the impacts of extreme weather events.

From April 20–22, national consultations will be held in Babonneau, Gros Islet, and online to present proposed community designs and gather public feedback.

The input received will help ensure that the final housing solutions reflect the needs and priorities of future homeowners while supporting sustainable national development.
