Under the theme “Airports Defining Connectivity in Latin America and the Caribbean,” topics such as concession models, airport certification, air cargo, and connectivity in the region are being discussed.
ACI-LAC presented the Green Airport Recognition, which recognizes environmental and climate change adaptation projects, and the Young Professional Award, sponsored by SITA, which will recognize an airport cybersecurity initiative.
A special section was dedicated to the challenges and opportunities of aviation in the Caribbean, with regional leaders participating in the panel “Caribbean Leaders: Shaping the Region’s Future Together.”
Among those addressing the conference is the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Secretary-General, Dona Regis-Prosper.
She will speak on the panel “Airports as Business Generators” on Tuesday, October 7, highlighting, among other things, how airports can evolve from transit hubs into dynamic engines for economic growth and digital innovation.
