Soufriere consultations begin on L-shaped jetty project

A stakeholder consultation was recently held at the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation boardroom to outline the scope and potential impacts of the L-shaped jetty which is being delivered by Saint Lucia Cruise Port.
According to the Executive Chairman of the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation, Ernest Augier, stakeholder engagement remains central in everything that the organization does.

There was focus on traffic management, garbage collection, visitor harassment and the economic opportunities for the town of Soufriere.

The General Manager of Saint Lucia Cruise Port Lancelot Arnold explained that the project will be delivered in as little time as possible, with very limited interruptions to regular operations. The project is due to be completed in four months.

Local businessman Michael Gustave lauded the staff on the Saint Lucia Cruise Port for the engagement, stating that it was necessary for stakeholders to come together to discuss the timeline of the project. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force was also represented at the Consultation by the Inspector in charge of the Soufriere Police Station.
