Chamber of Commerce solicits proposals for national 2026/2027 Budget

The Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce says the Minister of Commerce has invited its members to submit proposals to be considered for possible inclusion in the 2026/2027 Budget.

In the past the Chamber made submissions to the process, and many times elements of those submissions have been included in the budget.

The Chamber is advising its members that the suggestions could include broad policy measures which would have an impact on the macro-economy and wider society or institutional or other measures aimed at stimulating sectoral growth.

The Chamber is suggesting that there could be specific proposals for encouraging development in particular regions of the country or initiatives for social programmes.

Proposals can take the form of policy recommendations covering legal, administrative, or institutional issues, as well as recommendations for capital projects, other forms of expenditure and financing to support the national development programme.

Proposals are to be submitted by February 24th , 2026.
