The Government of the United Kingdom has announced the appointment of Simon Mustard as the new non-resident British High Commissioner to Saint Lucia and the wider Eastern Caribbean network.
Mr. Mustard officially presented his credentials during a ceremony in Castries on 24 July 2025.
High Commissioner Mustard, who is resident in Barbados, brings a wealth of diplomatic experience and a commitment to strengthening the UK’s relations in the Eastern Caribbean. “Building on our historical ties, I aim to work collaboratively on shared priorities such as climate resilience, economic growth, and regional security,” he stated.
During his visit, High Commissioner Mustard met with the Honourable Prime Minister, Philip J. Pierre, and the Castries team, including the Resident British Commissioner, Ms Amy Quant rill, to discuss ongoing cooperation and mutual interests. These discussions were focused on enhancing partnerships in areas such as sustainable development, security, and climate action.
A key highlight of the visit was a trip to the Millennium Highway Road, a UK-funded project that aims to improve infrastructure and connectivity in the region. The road underscores the UK’s commitment to supporting climate-resilient infrastructure and sustainable development initiatives in Saint Lucia.
