The Daren Sammy Foundation (DSF) has award ed thirty (30) students with scholarships for the upcoming school year 2025/2026 through its scholarship program.
Again, the foundation has joined forces with Republic Bank EC through its Power to Make A Difference (PMAD) Program to recognize and reward exceptional students who demonstrate dedication, hard work, and a profound passion for sports.
“We are excited to lend support to those in need” said Cathy Daniel-Sammy, Vice President of the Daren Sammy Foundation. “Ten years ago, we gave out ten scholarships, and today, with the help of Republic Bank through their PMAD Programme, we are able to now give 30 scholarships to deserving students.”
Covering tuition fees, school textbooks, bags and uniforms, the Daren Sammy Foundation Scholarship rewards hardworking students from low-income families. Recipients are selected from strict criteria such as applicants belonging to a sports club or participation in extra-curricular activity and a 75% passing grade.
Primary School students will be granted $1,500 each, while Secondary and Tertiary students will receive $2,500. This year, a total of $67,000 in scholarships was awarded through the PMAD Programme at Republic Bank.
