Caribbean energy leaders to convene in the Bahamas

The annual CARILEC Resilient/Renewable Energy Community (CAREC) Conference & Exhibition 2026 will convene from October 18–22, 2026 in the Bahamas.

The Caribbean energy community will seek to advance practical solutions to the region’s most pressing energy challenges and accelerate progress toward more resilient, reliable and sustainable power systems.

It’s been organized by the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC) in collaboration with co hosts Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) and Grand Bahama Power Company (GBPC).

The annual CAREC Conference will bring together approximately 200 utility leaders, energy professionals, policymakers, regulators, development partners and solution providers under the theme “Empowering Progress: Strategic Policy and Planning for the Energy Transition”.

Discussions will address some of the region’s most pressing energy issues, including renewable integration, battery energy storage, grid reliability and modernization, geothermal energy, conventional generation, climate resilience, emerging technologies, and policy and regulatory reform.
